Over the Summer, I had an opportunity to host a booth at the Pierce County Fair in Graham, Washington. I had fun playing games with families, passing out candy to the little ones, and also hosting the sign-up sheet for our 2012 Doggie Calendar Contest. The submissions have been great and we even got some submissions out of state and out of country!

Several stories were very heart-warming and some left me teary-eyed! In short, I need your help to pick your favorites to add to the calendar. In my escapades to be a better citizen, steward of money, and premature gardener of sorts-I decided this is the year I am growing my own herb garden. I think this upside herb garden is an awesome idea-especially those who have limited or no space for gardening.

This idea was found on a site called The Green Upgrader. The site is cool because it doesn’t make you feel guilty, scolding you for your lifestyle-it just encourages and provides ideas to do something more green.

So, if you like to cook and use fresh herbs-you no longer have to pay $4-5 bucks a pop, to only use about 1/4 of the package before you end up throwing the rest away. Now you can have your own herb garden, right outside your door.
